CAT WORLD RECORDS

Heaviest cat  -  The heaviest cat on record is Himmy, from Cairns Queensland, who weighed 21.3kg.  He died at the age of 10 of respiratory failure.

Lightest cat  -  A blue-point Himalayan from the USA named Tinker Toy.  He  was 2 .75 inches tall at the shoulder and 7.5 inches long.  He weighed 1lb 8oz.  Tinker Toy passed away in November 1997.

Oldest cat  -  Creme Puff of Austin Texas, who was born in August 1967, lived for over 38 years.

Largest litter  -  In August 1970 a four-year-old Burmese called Tarawood Antigione, owned by Valerie Gane of Oxfordshire, UK, gave birth to 19 kittens.  Only 15 survived, 1 female and 14 males.

Most kittens produced in lifetime  -  Dusty, a tabby cat from Texas gave birth to a total of 420 kittens.

Oldest cat to give birth  -  Kitty of Staffordshire, UK, owned by George Johnstone, had two kittens at the age of 30.  This was far from the first litter for Kitty, who had 218 kittens during her lifetime.

Most cats  -  Jack and Donna Wright of Kingston, Ontario, apparently own 689 cats.
